Houston We Have A Problem

Well, I suppose I should be extremely vague and not terribly technical...bottom line...I found a balancing error today at work that as been going on for at least 6 years. Yes folks, 6 years.
So needless to say I found some M-O-N-E-Y. Or perhaps the lack of...

This keeping books stuff is a lot of work...if you are actually doing your job. Which I can't say a particular DA1 has been doing.

Can I hear a "You Deserve a Big, Fat Raise" Please? Followed by a much bigger paycheck. Oh and maybe, "here, you deserve an office too". And a well hell "you should be an officer".

Anyway, there you go. I think I figured out DA1's game plan. She gonna get in the Big Bosses' good graces and then try to get me in trouble. Well she can try all she wants. That's all I'll say about that.

Besides all of that, I found some really old friends on Facebook. Right now Facebook is SO COOL! But of course it takes time away from my blog...but I'm sure all of my regular readers understand. Like there's so many of you out there.

Until next time, a small word of advice, unless you want to boil your goldfish, don't fill the fishbowl with HOT water.(No I didn't do that...but my oldest offspring did...lesson learned...i hope?)

Don't Much Like the Cold

I've decided I need to live somewhere that is between 40 and 80 degrees year round. It has been so cold here the past few days. And maybe it being so cold that you have a hard time staying warm isn't so bad, but when you have no water to boot because the pipes are frozen, that just plain sucks!

On the work front. I have been super busy. I'm still trying to get all the quarter end payroll reports signed by the boss so I can get them in the mail and get the year end payroll stuff done. Let me also add that I've never done quarter end, year end, and W-2 stuff before and I'm not receiving much training on it now either. But I'm fairly certain the quarter end stuff is correct. I have a hang up on the W-2s and I have no idea where the year end reports are.

And in addition to working on that I've had a ton of Bond activity since last month and, yes, I'm new to that too.

And then there's the HMDA reporting that I'm in charge of. Never done that before either. I've caught on to it pretty good. The hardest part about HMDA reporting is getting the information from the Loan Officers.

Then throw in balancing the ATM Suspense GL account, which by the way I don't think has ever been balanced, and trying to do the daily bookkeeping duties. I've been swamped to say the least. All for mere survival wages. I need a raise.

On a positive note..DA1 has thawed out a bit. But I don't trust her. She probably wants something. I think she wants to understand the ATM stuff so that she can try to take credit for figuring it out. Whatever.

The bank is closed tomorrow, but one of the chiefs is supposed to be there and I was told I could work as long as he wasn't the only other person there. Which is understandable considering the way rumors are so easily started and spread in this small town.

On the real estate investing front...I have 3 properties...one pays late on time every month...one is slow pay and getting slower...and one got so slow they moved out. So, I have a vacant property that the mortgage payments are 3 months behind on. I think I may just let that one go back. Don't need the headache. I've already got the 2 others.

I guess I don't really have anything uplifting to add today..sorry. I'll try to be a little more Captain Positivity another day.

Jasmine turns 3

Yes, on this day three years ago I was at the hospital laboring to have my 2nd baby girl. I kept praying for a quick and easy delivery because my delivery was so difficult with Lily. Well, let me put it to you this way...the delivery was a piece of cake. I forgot, or just didn't think to include the word "labor" into my prayers. Needless to say the labor was pretty tough. I opted for an epidural this time because I knew I would be given Pitocin again. It took the edge off, but I really can't say it blocked out all of the pain. It was certainly more managable, especially with my brother talking me through the transition phase of the labor. But the end result was wonderful. An 8lb 14oz, beautiful baby girl with a perfect round head and a broken collarbone.(she broke it upon entry into the world)

She is a great kid. Excellent personality. Laid back. And smart. The prettiest green eyes. that change colors. I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Happy 3rd Birthday Baby girl!!

Well, enough of the gushing...I was slightly teed at work today. My co-worker whom I shall call DA1 is slowly but surely trying to edge me out of bookkeeping because she is scared for her job. Which is silly. I mean the owner has made it very clear that as long as she's around DA1 will have a job. I can't help it that I am a quick study and computer literate. Anyway, we got the lecture from the owner today that we need to work well together and cooperate with one another, blah, blah, blah. So the owner goes on to say how she was told by her son that DA1 and DA2 were ugly to me at year end. So DA1 turns it into...let's try to get her in trouble by talking about my smoke break. So childish. I hope DA1 gets a freaking life.

We'll see what kind of drama there will be tomorrow.

I Know, I Know...

...it's been a long time since I blogged. Would you believe it if I told you that since I became "gainfully" employed I have just been plum busy? I put quotations around gainfully because barely surviving doesn't really count to me.

As an update..I am receiving child support from both baby-daddies now. Unfortunately for the lower wage earner he pays more than twice what Mr. California Dick pays. Not my problem though...the girls deserve the support and it still isn't really completely what they deserve.

Also...Jas is almost 3 and Lily is almost 7. Wow!! I can't believe it. Jas has been seeing her daddy regularly, which is good. He has remarried and has #4 due any day now. One thing's for sure he may not know how to make much money, but he knows how to make the babies. Lily sees her daddy about once a year in the summer...for about 5 weeks at a time. She likes it there, so that's good; she wants to move there, so that's bad.

Also...Lily has changed schools because we moved and survival was more important than private school. But on a positive note, it's much closer to home and she's doing much better...like AB Honor Roll better!! We'll try to get her in some sports this year, probably soccer in the spring.

Anyway...I'm on Twitter now thanks to Papa. It's kind of nice...just answer one simple question...what are you doing now?

I think I may blog a little more frequently now...I have lots to vent about in the employment area of my life.
